CEO
Jóhann Guðbjargarson, PLAIO’s CEO, is a proven expert in software engineering, with a unique expertise in advanced data processing systems and interactive user-interfaces.
He worked for 13 years for the engineering and software company AGR, mostly as a development manager but later as head of business development. He co-founded Rhino-Aviation in 2013 and worked with companies such as Icelandair, Accenture and Lufthansa. Jóhann has a BSc degree in computer science from Reykjavík University.
VP of Business Development
Ólafur Pálsson heads sales and business development efforts for PLAIO. Ólafur has extensive experience in cross market B2C/B2B sales and business development with a proven track record in delivering products to global market. Ólafur has led smaller and larger organisations with focus on medical devices, consumer goods, software & pharmaceuticals.
Ólafur graduated with an Msc. in financial risk management from Monash University in Melbourne Australia.
VP of Product
Manuela Magnúsdóttir is a Development manager, who is responsible for technical growth of the company. She is the point of contact between business and developers.
Manuela has worked in the Pharma industry in recent years and understands the need for more modern tools in that field. Manuela holds a MSc degree in Biochemistry and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Iceland.
VP of Customer Success
Hildur Rún Guðjónsdóttir is the VP of Customer Success, she is responsible for all Platform implementations and leads the customer success team.
Hildur Rún has extensive experience in consultancy, process analysis and automation from her previous role as a Manager at Deloitte. Hildur holds a MSc degree in engineering management from Reykjavik University.
Project Management
Hlynur Stefánsson holds a PhD degree in engineering from Imperial College London and a professor position at Reykjavik University.
Dr. Stefánsson is an established expert in developing and applying AI methods for the automation of planning and scheduling processes in the pharmaceutical industry. He has worked as a consultant for various pharmaceutical companies and is currently a board member of 3Z Pharmaceuticals.
ML / AI / Data Science
Eyjólfur Ingi Ásgeirsson holds a PhD degree in operations research from Columbia University, New York.
Dr. Ásgeirsson research focus is on scheduling, machine learning, optimization and approximation algorithms. In addition to academic work, he has worked as an industry consultant for solving scheduling, planning and rostering problems.
